College Night this Wednesday + Cap/Gown Info for Seniors - March 31th, 2019

Dear Sierra Families,

We hope you enjoyed the sunshine this weekend! Just a reminder that we hope to see all junior, sophomore, and freshmen families at our College Prep Night this coming Wednesday, starting at 6pm. Session topics include overviews of the following: our college prep program for juniors and seniors (including our current college acceptance rates), the Running Start program, and financing your student’s college experience. There will also be a panel of college grads who will share their advice. Dinner will be provided. We hope to see you there! If you have any questions about this event please email mali@summitps.org.

PARENT PANEL:

We will be hosting a parent panel at Sierra on Wednesday, April 17th from 3:30pm-4:00pm. This 30 min panel discussion will be a part of a professional development experience for our teachers on communicating with families in culturally responsive ways hosted by Regina Elmi, a wonderful educator, mother, and parent advocate in our community. We would love to welcome as many of our parents as possible to be on this 30 min panel as well as be present for the overall session, which will go from 3-5pm on that day. If you are interested, please reach out to Dan Effland, deffland@summitps.org, to let us know how you would like to be involved.

Take care,
Malia, Ayanna, Dan, and Stefan
