Ry earned a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design from Drexel University and a Masters in Teaching (with a focus on Secondary English Language Arts) from the University of Washington. He’s also an artist with experience in contemporary dance, improvisational performance, and rap music. He grew up in New Jersey, lived in and around Philadelphia for about ten years, and moved to Seattle in 2013. He’s taught AP Literature and creative writing and has spent time in many of Seattle and Highline’s middle and high schools, as a guest teacher. For much of the 2016-2017 school year, he substituted at Sierra, where he’s built strong relationships with students and staff that he can’t wait to return to full-time. He’s excited to work with Dan in building the Learning Center into a place for students to learn, develop, and adopt strategies for life, including the classroom.
